Don't do it! No way. Never. Cause then it would look like I stole some of the ideas from you and the guy with the red bird. LOL I like the shaker and the air extractors. Not quite sure about the flares tho. And do not like the front spoiler. So I guess we'll comprimise. I'll take the shaker and the extractor idea, you can have the flares and spoilers. LOL

I think it would look Awsome. I know a guy who years ago was fixing up a nice
'76 ??? Olds with TA Air Extractors, He had the car in primer for a few years then parked it. Last I knew he had a '80 TA but haven't seen it for a long time either ,might be hiding in the garage.

LOL- I think it would look great on a convertible also. I do like the flairs, front spoiler and the mirrors the molding looks good also.
So no worries I am in Canada and live on an Island so the chances of us meeting @ the same show is slim

I have done a few firebirds in the past and think this 1 is a little different. a few pictures.

If you're going with a hood bird, s 75-78 bird would look best. Not a fan of the flares either. Might be because of the wheels on that car.

ok- I have started to do a little homework on the 68 TA Clone. Here is a picture of a 70 TA (nice car) with the fender flairs and it looks like they are smaller on the early 70's?? can anyone confirm this, please.

They were smaller on the 70-78's. The ones on that 68 look like the 79-81 style. I'm not wild about the whole thing just to be honest. I would rather see the 69 TA stuff on it.

I decided to do a 400 Clone on this 68 vert it has a Pontiac 400/auto. I cannot bring myself to cutting into the fenders for the air extractors the hood mod is no big deal as i have 3x 350 hoods to play with.
A few pictures of the completed car.

They made over 16,000 of the convertibles for 1968...mine's getting knifed for the Pro-Touring set-up....and if the rims had been larger, the car lower so such a big gap wasn't there at the tops of the wheels, that would be one smokin' ride....if you lost the screaming chicken, that is...

I totally agree- the back end should be lowered-I have seen quite a few birds sit high in the rear must be a the rear springs/shocks?? I never really looked into it. My other 2 68's do not sit that high in the rear.
