65 Cat. 2+2

I'm little bit contemplative right now... Did the '65 Catalina 2+2 ever had side moldings?

I'm pretty sure the '65 2+2 I almost bought did not.

Wouldn't that long molding right at the bottom of the door be considered "side molding"

That's what it looks like from the picture didn't think it had moulding on it.That's the only 2 pictures I had of that car. I was trying to go by my memory till I found the pictures. That car had soo much traction that one day I let her rip and smoked em in first and when I shifted to second the 4- speed went BOOM the only gear not hurt in the trany was the reverse idler gear tucked down in the corner of the case. That's was with a 389 in it at the time.

umm... I don't mean those moldings which are on the bottom....

I just thought did it ever have long side moldings which go through the side in the middle of the door etc.

I have once seen a 65 Cat. which HAD those side moldings....ODD!!!
(how it can be possible?)

look at this '66,it has "those" side moldings.

65 2+2

pontiacwoman, In late summer of 65, I spotted a yellow 2+2 on a used car lot. The salesman talked me into taking it for a ride. I would have bought that car, it had a 421 with tri power and a 4 speed, but he wouldn't give me fair market value for my 61 Bonne convertable. The Cat did NOT have the side molding that you are asking about.
Now, on a different note. I was thinking of addressing you with a little shorter name. Pontiac=indian, indianwoman=squaw. Could I just address you as squaw? LOL!!!

I was just trying to be funny, I guess. I wouldn't call anyone squaw unless it was my wife. (Maybe that's why I don't have one) And pontiac woman is a fine name. Thanks for the comment on my 64. I like it too!
Here's a couple more pictures with some scenery in the background:

Just out of curiosity, what are the temperatures during the summer months at that race track? I love the mountains in the back ground too. Beautiful looking place.

If the weather is good, it can get into the mid to high 70s, but I've also seen it in the mid 40s.

I have a '65 2+2. They did not come with belt-line molding. They did have a strip of stainless molding running along the bottom body accent line.
