| My 75 TA has a small spot center bottom of the passenger side door. It's always been there. What happened is, when the previous owner had the car painted, they buffed the clear off and now dirt hangs on that spot, anyway I can fix that? without having the entire door repainted? I'll try and snap a pic tomorrow.

| Sounds more like a fish eye if its a spot due to improper prep. You might want to try scotchbriting the panel around the area and using a touch up gun spray some more clear over the area before wet flat and polish

| I took some in the garage, but on white it's hard to see with the shadows, so I'll pull it out and take one today.

| Yes thats a stone chip I just got last fall, as I was DRIVING the car, a big Dump Truck pelted me with stones in his tire tread as I was passing him on a highway. I filled it with touch up paint pen. I'm not happy, but oh well the TA's not as much my baby as my 69 is lol

| Color sand that until smooth with 1000. Make sure it's actually through the clear, and not some sort of clear coat blemish. Use an air brush or touch up gun to spray about 2 coats of clear, feathering the coats. Color sand the area about 5 inches or so around what you sprayed, including the spot. Polish to a pristine shine. Might as well fix the chips while doing it.

| Then do as I posted, and don't sand so much that you break through the white. You just need to feather the clear edges so that the new clear goes on smooth and even.

| Are you going to clear this yourself or have a shop do it. The reason I ask is that a shop is gonna charge a minimum charge which is gonna be the same as clearing the whole door. If you did it yourself you could back tape and spray. feathe the ridge in by wet sanding through 1500 down to 2000 grits and then buff it out the rest of the way, Dont shoot heavy upto the tape. when you remove the tape the edges should have a matte finish to them. Like i said cut the edges back as you wetsand.

| Back taping is also known as the reverse tape method. I did have a How To on that at another site. Guess I need to redo it for this one. It's the Old School way to do spot repairs. BUt, if it's on the door, you might as well just sand the whole door and reclear. I don't bother with spot repairs on things that can be taken off.
