Formula is back in TRUE FORM!!!

Well after getting SICK and TIRED of the Formula just not quite running right I took my AZ managers advice and brought a new part out to the Formula to try it. (MAF) well the thing instantly came to LIFE! No CEL's either with a bad MAF

Before there was a very SLIGHT stuttering at part throttle. Now it is gone $151 later I have the Formula running like it should.

I gotta tell ya it was really no FUN taking it out for a cruise cause it was stutterin all over the place. Took the slow road home tonight just to give it the ultimate test and its all good.

I bought a service van from my work a few years back. It was running REAL rough, lots of teeth shaking stumbles from the motor. Popped in a new MAF sensor and drove it for the next 2 years. Oh yeah, paid $8.59 for the van when the boss said "I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 10 dollars for the van" I added a new cap, rotor, plugs and wires for a total investment of just over 200 bucks. (I won't mention its a, ahumm, ford.

How much was the MAF? $200 with cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and purchase

Well I replaced everything else for tune up and the EGR/EGR temp switch that helped but it still had the stumble. Not anymore. Brought it this morning to work (NO I DIDNT GET THE DECAL ON YET) and it ran great. I am hoping for 19MPG for the trip to Carlisle

Sensor was only around 90 bucks at the time, 4 or 5 years ago. Still have the van, still runs and drives, 420,000 miles on the engine. Have replaced the battery, rebuilt the distributor and replaced the alternator, otherwise internally stock on the 5.0 motor. Its just butt ugly and has a power steering hose leak now so it sits. Got a company supplied truck to drive now anyways. As a matter of fact, if you go back about two years in the Car Craft burnout section, you can see the van doing a big ole smokey.

And actually, I think I lied, it uses a map sensor on that van, not a maf, if memory serves correctly.
