Demon carbs

With all the online bad publicity about Demon carbs, I just hadda put up my experience. I've had a new 850 Speed Demon sitting in the box since I bought it about 8 years ago. I bought it for my new engine when I was still in the beginning stages of the build, so I left it sit till now. This week I decided I'm close enough to test firing the stroker to test a few of my new components out.

Well today I took the carb out to my shop and bolted it on to my old 455. Even after sitting all that time it fired right up and ran sweet - no leaks or nothing. My only complaint is that the idle speed was a tad high out of the box.

I have a 650 Mighty demon. I bought it used / new. the First owner bought it new put jet extensions and Power valve block out on. He never installed it. he went to injection then.

I bought it, it sat for anouther 2 years. Out of the box I made more HP then the Dyno test 650 holley, that was all worked over.

I love my Demon so far.

Thanks for the post. We generally only get to hear about it when someone has a problem but it's always nice to see a postive post.

I call em as I see em, both good and bad. Too be honest with you after the carb sat all this time, I wasn't really expecting much. I neglected to mention it sat for a long time in our laundry room for lck of a better place. It was well sealed, so I wasn't concerned about dust, but it was fairly close to the dryer so I did think the heat may affect the gaskets and cause leaks. I have fired the engine a couple of times since I started this post and have to say the engine starts way easier than it ever did with the 3310 Holley I had on it. Haven't tried any tuning yet - it's going on my fresh engine soon, so I'll need to do it then anyways.
