69 GTO Project

Just wanted to share my project. Its a Father/Son project that got started about ten years ago. An idiot running a stop sign put her in long term storage, i.e. my dad's garage while I went to college. She is an all numbers matching coup. YS 400 motor that still runs strong. 400 Turbo Tranny, 10 bolt rear. AC...I can't think of anything else.

Recent upgrades:
Front Disk Brakes
Dash restored by Just Dashes (Pics to come)

Enjoy!

Right now I am putting the dash back in, going slow though. It is a pain in the ass hooking up all the wires. Plus, the previous owner did some splicing under there so I am having to trace a lot of wires that seem to go no where. I will definately update as I work on her.

I am anxious to see Outlaws 496 article that is coming out this may! Would love to build up my 400 like that!!

HCP Go For It

It's great to see a long-awaited project underway. I know what you mean about the slew of wires under the dash. I spent several hours just hooking up a hidden radio antenna under the dash of my '67 last summer. My Son lives near Spring, TX. Are there any GTO shops in that area that I should check out on my next visit?

Just a quick update...no new pics but figured out my electrical. The blinkers were not working properly and I remember why I hate wires! They seem to be never ending!!!

Also just purchased a 68 Dual Gate Shifter to put in her, just waiting for it to come in, anyone needing a 69 Rally Automatic Shifter?

Good luck with your project, it looks like it's coming along nice. I've always had a soft spot for 69-70 Goats.

Well unfortunately progress is slow...haven't even had time to install that 68 Hurst His/Hers shifter I bought at New Year!!! But that is how it goes though, had a baby girl in March, kinda the reason why I had to put my old love on the shelf for a while...looking to paint and get skins on in the Fall when it cools down.

Although I was wondering if anyone new of a good place (besides ebay) to price out some 04-06 front seats...thinking of replacing my 40+ originals.
