Need some installation help with a 02 Grand Prix

I just picked up some new 6x9 speakers for the rear deck of my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 4dr and im a little confused about how to gain full access to the speakers themselves. Is there anyone who has done this before or has a link to a guide of some sort? thanks in advance.

Check out one of the grand prix forums. I've used these 2 in the past for questions. I would think you should be able to access them from the trunk under the pack tray though.

Here is some info found with a brief google search:

"Now, with the rear speakers, I have to remove the seat cusion first, then unbolt the seat back bottom, then rotate seatback foward and up. Now, I have to take the deck carpet off with the grills at the same time. Finally, I can get to the speakers. Screws next to window I have to use a screw bit and adjustable wrench. These old speakers are nothing but 6x9 paper cone and paper whizzer. Almost non existant flexibility for bass. The surround are almost not even there, they are part of the cone, so its paper. Not only that but they were 8ohm speakers. Took me almost 2 hrs to get the seat and every thing out. So far just one speaker is out. I will have to do the rest tomorrow."

Well doesn't that sound like fun. They must have started with the speakers and built the car around them

yeah. bonneville is the same way. kinda sucks, but doesn't take that long. I've removed the back seat several times and have it down to about 15 minutes at most
