Yeah, this is all new to me, but there is only one way to learn, right? I thought you used a sealer that you put into a caulking gun and apply around the window frame. The last windshield I had put into my bird (many, many, years ago) I seem to remember that's how they did it. Maybe i'm wrong?

OK, buy new clips - check.

Come to think of it, we used a similar tape years ago on a 68 Javelin I had, the guy who bought that car still owns it, and has never had a leak in that car either. But a second gen window glass channel, may be different, and the round 3M tape may work better. I think my Step Dad did a front and rear glass replacement in a Corvair Vert he had and used a caulk gun, don't remember how that turned out, I was only 11 years old, but was helping him with that car. The new clips are a must, the old ones aren't worth saving, and to be honest probably won't survive removing the glass.

Do you keep track of people's glass leaks?

Round ribbon. Best for all cars. Doesn't matter about the channel. Do it right the first time. Inferior products are not worth the time or money when something better is readily available at any parts store.

You can also use the caulk tube stuff, but it is messy, and harder to use. You can drop in a round ribbon laced glass in less than 5 minutes, and never have to worry about it again.

Did I ask you for your help? Hmmm let me see...NO I didn't! We used the flat product with NO! problems. And yes I still see the guy with the Javelin, and he's never mentioned a problem with leaks. So TO EACH HIS OWN! I'm recommending the flat tape due to a good experience with it, you're recommending the round. He can make his own decision what he'd like to try. Your arrogance in thinking you're ALWAYS right, is beyond me. I'm just trying to help here from the experience I've had with the product. If you've had a bad one with a flat tape product, perhaps it was INSTALLER error. LOL and not the product.

If you don't want me here anymore just say it! Seems no matter where I post on this site, you jump my ASS!

LOL! Quit whining, big baby! Just accept that you're wrong. Years and years of the PROS using round ribbon over flat proves my case. Most people never even heard of that flat shit, which also proves my case. Suck on this!

She is right about one thing though. If someone wants to use that INFERIOR flat ribbon, it's their choice. But if they want to use what the PROFESSIONALS, and the FACTORY use, they'll use the 3M round ribbon. It seems like a pretty simple decision to me. lol!

I've always used the round 3M ribbon because its cheap and awesome. Just install it let it sit in the sun and it gets all soft and pliable pop in the glass and done.

Mike did use that 3M stuff on the 1953 Willies Jeep we restored, I forgot about that project, so he's used both with success.
