| What year fenders interchange??? I bought a 79 Firebird parts car for the rear quarters. I was wondering if the front fenders would fit on a 78 T/A? I know I will have to cut for the scoops, but man the 79 fenders are solid and nice compared to the 78 T/A. Will there be an obvious problem other than the side scoops? | |||||||||||

| The 79 fenders will line up exactly like 78 fenders. All the mounting positions are the same from 77-81.

| How about the doors? The 79 Firebird has good doors with manual window cranks. The 78 T/A has power windows. power windows are nice till they quit working. Manual windows seem to give less trouble. | |||||||||||

| You can take the doors off any 2nd gen bird and swap them. They're basicly the same from 75-81, with the door handles being the big difference between 70-74 and 75-81. In other words, yes you can take the doors off the 79 and put them on the 78. ![]()

| With a bit of work the only things that wont fit easily from all generations is the subframe from a late car on an early one, and the quarters 70-73 are different from later ones because of the chrome bumper. The rest might not be a perfect bolt on, but its close enough that you could make it work, it just wouldnt be concours correct..
