Yep and saving pictures for future use! My '65 needs some work but not near as bad as that '65 was to start with.I hate to admit it but I've crushed cars in better shape because nobody wanted to give me more than $100. and I didn't own the land they were parked on and I had to get rid of them, plus I was unemployed for 5 years and picke alot of them pretty clean then chrushed the rest. Some had titles and some didn't. I had one '67 GTO with a Buick serial number(not sure about that car, wasn't much left to it when I got it)

I've read stories in mags about you guys (not you specifically) in the 70's during the oil crisis being able to buy a muscle car from the local car dealers for 25 bucks (because thats what it would of cost to get them crushed) and nobody wanted them, so these guys would buy them and just thrash them to death and them sell them for scrap and get their money back. We're talking about superbirds, boss mustangs, gto's etc etc etc. Shit - I've just hijacked a thread havent I? Sorry Dave

I know looking at links and deals how cheap cars are there ...........Here for instance 72 Monaro coupe with with 308 either trans in ok nick is 20K + not to mention if its 350 Chev GTS optioned then almost double it. then look at a 72 Ponty with 400 and start to cry . Good luck to people there being able to get them for that but yup Herb hard to watch from over this side .

I bought em, thrashed on em, and kept em. If only I had been able to start picking them up prior to the first insanity and speculation on muscle cars. Just as I get a job they go from $1200 for a 69 Judge to $14k for the exact same car in rough as hell shape. Ok not as rough as this one, but I missed out on a RAIV Judge and it was drivable and about the same condition as my 70. When I got the 70 for $1000 in 93 I was ecstatic because most of them were bringing far more than that.

I spent today cutting strips out of a scrap hood so I can make window channels. I need a plasma cutter now, that is so quick and easy. We used the press to put a nice radius into a couple strips so I can rebuild the door jambs easier too. Tomorrow I'll start welding and grinding on the windows and jambs. I think I will do the front one first because I have the filler for the back ordered, its on back order. I might call around and see if anyone has one in stock, if they do I'll get it form them and cancel the back order.

Got some work done today that will show in pics, started on the rear window. Had to resurface my anvil first so I could get a nice straight angle first. Yesterday I cut some strips from another hood that had a nice body line through them, it made a very nice curved angle I could section and use for the window channels. I think the first part came out ok, needs some work but its nice and solid now.

Just need the part that has been on back order for the bottom and the rear window is done. Well just a bit of grinding to do on the drivers side where I made it a tad thin. It will still take some filler but at least the windows wont leak water anymore.

Also drilled holes in the floor pans so I can finish welding them tomorrow, after that and a bit of grinding/trimming on the seams then I will finish the drivers side quarter repairs. After that its on to the door jambs and the front window.

Well the rear had only rusted the outer panel, so I could use the inner to get the flange in the right spot. Also these cars use thick sealer and you can stuff a bunch of urethane in the gap and fill in the imperfections. I have the front glass ready to get the front channel right, its going to take a bit more work.

As for being on track, Im not sure. Its March 14th and I still have metal work to do, I guess it depends on how hard I can push myself over the next week. I want to start on the primer, filler, color stuff in April. I figure blocking will take me a few weeks and I want to have the body back on the frame to do the blocking and filler. I dont want to rush things and have a wavy heap full of screw ups, but I cant just take as long as I want. As long as I can have glass in it, and it runs and moves under its own power by the 5th I am happy. I can finish the rest, like the interior later. I dont have the funds to get the interior together until mid May anyway.

I dont know about her but I do... The smooth back and forth of the board sounds like waves crashing on the shoreline, like an endless sea coming to the beach.

People tell me that all the time. They say I will have health problems unless I am negative with a defeatist attitude. Things like high blood pressure, gastrointestinal problems, stress, and all the rest. It works for everyone else and my sister just adores the idea of being negative towards anything and everything, but alas its just not my nature.

I finished the welding on the floors, and trunk, and started patching the area under the rear seat. Working on a plan for the drivers side A pillar since I havent been able to get a parts car yet. The trailer is broke and I have decided to get new axles for it rather than try to find those old bearings and fight the crappy rusted wheels it has. Maybe I will just repack them with grease and go pick up the one nearby.

Mucking around with a ponti from about as far away from the motherland as you can get, You can't not have humor hey Herb. These blokes don't get their pants pulled down like we do when it comes to parts . Not complaining mind but you just really gotta want 1.
