| Done........Gaps are as good as they are going to get. The front fenders-to-doors-to-front bumper gaps look better than my doors to rear quarter panels, and those only have to be matched up to the rockers. I do have to trim part of my aftermarket fiberglass hood it is 5/16" longer on one side than the other after I match up the center ridge and curves to the front bumper. ........Its always something. Any suggestions on what to use to trim/sand fiberglass without melting it? I was thinking a die grinder and then hand sand it smooth. | |||||||||||

| njtowguy, Are your door hinges good, no sag what so-ever when door opens? If so, then like previously posted, the doors must get done first to the rear quarter and rocker panel. As for the front fenders, the hardest thing for me was not the gaps but keeping the center ridge lined up with the door ridge, I controled that height by loosening/tightning the bottom fender bolts and then just pushed in on the top part of the fender and shimmed the top cowl bolt. I also did not have to shim behind the firewall bolts on either fender which makes the fenders square to the rest of the car(I guess?). I have about a 1/16" difference in my gaps. Like I said "Good as they are going to get", its a street car not a museum piece, besides I don't see them when I tearing up the streets...... ![]() | |||||||||||

| I did notice that on mine the doors were definetly the key. Especially the front top corner next to the windsheild. i measured the hood and added for gaps then set the hinges. Another problem that I recall having was when I tightened my door hinges on the driver side it seemed to pull the door outta alignment. The prob was the anchor plate mounted in the body it had very limited movement due to being Ziebarted years back. I cleaned it up and and sprayed WD-40 on them and it made a HUGE difference. I also mounted a tap in my drill and chased all the threads and used a little spray grease on them.
