I cannot get my 3310 adjusted correctly.
In order for the car to run,the float levels must be set high.
Running an electric pump running 7 psi.
My adjustment procedure is as follows.
Once the car is running, lower idle as low as it will go and adjust idle mixture screws for best vacuum.
Adjust float levels so fuel just spills from the sight plugs.
Once I lower the float levels car stalls.
    Any thoughts?

You really need to get some one to watch and also tell you what it drops to once your in gear.

Then you can start to figure your jetting

Do u have sight windows for the floats? If so adjust the floats midway. You need to adjust your floats before u **** with air/fuel screws. As for your ideal you should set the butterfly's so the transfer slot had about .020" exposed on the fronts and closed on the rear u less u ideal above 1k

Set your air fuel screws at 2 turns put from fully seated to start. U have to wait for the carb to adjust after turning screws and only adjust a 1/8 to 1/4 turn at time. This demands patience. This should also be done with the car in gear with the air cleaner on. I block my tires and apply the e brake.

So set ideal by adjusting butterfly's

              Then adjust floats

              Then adjust air/fuel

Don't **** with the ideal after its set per transfer slots

                Thanks for the book.
When ever I lower the float level the car will not run.
Back fires like hell through the carb.
As soon as I raise the float level, car fires right up.
Car is telling me its thirsty..who am I to say no?

Mixture screws are only on the front of carb..dual feed lines.
lowering the secondary float have affect on the front bowls?
I'm currently just working on the front bowls as the power circuit runs fine once car is running?

Well, I usually get the floats close, adjust idle mixture, then set idle, then you can go back and fine tune, this if your patient can take a bit of time, then I think... Vacuum leaks...

Ok, Holley has books out there, I have them all packed at the moment, I use a vacuum gauge, but I don't always use it for final tuning, I let the engine make the choice, by ear I guess, when setting idle mixture, then set idle, you may want to check accelerator pump clearance, you will have to use a feeler gauge, these are great carbs, once you have it set right,

Ive got the car to idle smoothly in park and drive,, tuning the pump next.
I swapped needles/seats from another 3310..wondering if they are the smaller 97 needles..requiring the higher float setting?
